While many SaaS platforms address generic business functions like sales or finance, our client focuses on solving deep technical challenges within specialised engineering and research environments.

Their platform enables organisations in complex, research-led sectors to accelerate innovation and product development by unifying fragmented data into a single, actionable environment. 

Following a recent round of funding, they are now establishing their growth function in the UK. As the first dedicated demand generation hire, you will have full autonomy to design and execute a scalable customer acquisition machine.

Role overview

This is an individual contributor role reporting directly to the CEO. You will be responsible for the entire lead lifecycle, moving beyond simple clicks to focus on pipeline velocity and revenue impact.

You won’t be following a pre-existing playbook; you’ll be creating it. This role is ideal for a “product-minded” marketer who enjoys technical challenges and wants to see the tangible impact of their work on global innovation.

What you’ll be doing

  • Full-funnel management: You will take charge of the entire prospect journey, from crafting initial messaging and search strategies to building the automated systems that prepare leads for the sales team.
  • Growth engine investment: You will oversee the marketing budget, identifying and scaling the most effective ways to reach audiences on professional networks and industry-specific platforms.
  • Visibility and discovery: You will ensure the business stays ahead in search results and AI-driven discovery tools through a modern, structured approach to digital presence.
  • Strategic outreach: You will create tailored engagement plans designed to reach decision-makers within large-scale, specialised organisations.
  • Performance measurement: You will establish the reporting frameworks needed to track how activity converts into revenue, giving the leadership team a clear view of marketing’s impact.

What you will need to succeed

  • SaaS expertise: Proven experience in B2B enterprise SaaS marketing, specifically within demand generation or growth roles.
  • AI fluency: You must be using AI in your role to drive efficiency, as this is an IC role with no agency support.
  • Strategic autonomy: The ability to work independently in an early-stage environment where hand-holding is minimal.
  • Analytical mindset: You think in terms of pipeline and revenue rather than vanity metrics.
  • Execution focus: A “get things done” attitude with the ability to move at a fast pace without sacrificing quality.
