Our client approached us to help them recruit a key role within their business. Working closely with the marketing and external sales teams, this person would be responsible for making sure that leads were qualified and nurtured through the sales process, reducing drop off, pre-qualifying needs and increasing customer satisfaction. The objective being that an appointment would be made for the sales team to go to, with enough information for them to successfully pitch with.
Using a number of different channels including online advertising, headhunting and networking, our strategy was focus on B2B sales potential and achievement over sector experience. Our view was that the best sales people would be able to apply their skills to a new solution and market.
Once our marketing activities had ended we narrowed our shortlist down to three strong internal sales professionals, one of which was taken back for a 2nd interview. Knowing how competitive the market was for high calibre sales people, our client took the time to drive to the candidate to interview him which made a significant difference when he was considering his options.
